Ryan Antonio Matthews, who was indicted by a Brazoria County Grand Jury on two counts of Capital Murder on July 24, 2014 for the alleged killing of Dawson High School student Arrijana Hill, will face justice this week.
The 17 year-old former Dawson football player allegedly stabbed and strangled Hill to death on March 21, 2014.
Jury selection begins Monday (Apr. 13) and the trial is expected to commence Tuesday (Apr. 14) at the Brazoria County Courthouse.
Matthews, who was 16-years-old at the time of the murder, was reportedly Hill’s boyfriend. Court records indicate Hill was found to be pregnant with twins, which DNA tests revealed Matthews to be the father.
Matthews has spent the time since the incident being held at the Brazoria County Jail on bonds totaling $1.5 million.
Matthews is facing up to 40 years in prison without parole since he was a juvenile at the time of the crime.
